Summer Must Do's in Missoula

Hike the M

Take the short but challenging hike up to the “M” on Mount Sentinel! Make sure to bring plenty of water for you, and don’t forget Fido’s water, too!

Hike up the M for great views of Missoula.

Fly Fish

In Missoula, a river really does run through it, and when in Montana, fly fishing is a must! Local shops rent out gear, and you can fish the Clark Fork or Blackfoot Rivers just outside Comfort Inn’s doors.

Float the River

When it is hot in the summertime, the best way to cool down is by floating the river. This is popular summer activity, and people can be seen on tubes at any given time in the warmer months.

Go to the Bark Park

Located a short walk from the Comfort Inn is Jacob’s Island Bark Park, a fun off-leash area by the Clark Fork River for dogs to romp and play. Please know that dog swimming is discouraged and can be very dangerous when the river is high and fast!
Having fun in the water!

Walk or Bike the Riverfront Trail

The Riverfront Trail acts as a scenic and easy corridor that connects downtown Missoula with the University. The Comfort Inn is located near the access points to the trail, making getting around Missoula a breeze. Borrow our complimentary cruiser bikes or hit the trail on foot to explore.

Go to the Saturday Markets

Missoula boasts three Saturday markets in the summer: The Clark Fork Market, the Missoula Farmers Market, and the Missoula Peoples Market. Grab some coffee and a delicious breakfast and see what finds you will find!

The markets are a great way to spend a Saturday morning or afternoon.

Enjoy S’mores Under the Stars

After a full day of hiking, biking, shopping and dining, enjoy an evening around the Comfort Inn’s fire pit with complimentary s’mores. The views of the river and Mount Sentinel are free, too!

Great views from our friendly fire pit.
