Tips on Traveling to the Missoula

After a long day of travel, you’ve finally arrived at your destination hotspot, Missoula, Montana, and now the group is clamoring to know what there is for them to do.  Well, not to worry, because you’ve picked the perfect place that is bursting with activities that will satisfy even the hardest to please! Just let us give you a few tips on where to go and what to do to get the most out of your visit.

For the Shopper

For the non-stop shopper, paradise awaits just a few blocks away.  Downtown Missoula has a plethora of quaint boutiques and unique shops that is sure to delight even the most discriminating buyer. Plus, there’s no sales tax!

For the Family Vacationer

While your significant other is spending away to her heart’s desire, take the kids to one of Missoula’s many fine parks to burn off some steam. Close-by to the Comfort Inn, is Caras Park, host to the magical A Carousel for Missoula and Dragon Hollow Play Area.  Treat yourself and the youngsters to an inexpensive, good-old fashioned fun time trying for the brass ring on the carousel, and running around the obstacle course in the play area.  Of course Missoula has waterparks, too, also wallet-friendly and a blast:  Currents Indoor Waterpark, located at McCormick Park is open year-round, and Splash Montana at Playfair Park is open during the summer season.

For the Foodie

If you’re a “foodie”, finding a great place to eat in the Garden City is definitely not a problem!  Choose from a wide array of local eateries, ranging from fine dining to quaint hole-in-the-wall style bistros.  Missoula has an eclectic selection of restaurants, such as Rumour, which offers up re-imagined American cuisine, vegetarian and gluten free dishes, while just a bit further up the road, the Montana Club has a variety to satisfy any craving, like their perfectly grilled Angus steaks.

For the Outdoor Adventurer

After dinner, if you want to burn off some of those vacation calories, take a walk along the Riverfront Trail or go hiking up to the iconic “M”.  You won’t have to worry about running into wildlife on this hike; however, you may bump into a Grizzly or two (of the sports fan variety).

Don’t forget to relax

There are so many more activities and things to see, but that can wait until tomorrow, because finally, after all that, you can go on back to the Comfort Inn University and relax Montana-style, by the fire pit, and enjoy the breathtaking river and mountain views before heading off to bed.
